The previous two Ulster Rallies (2009 and 2010) were over the end-of-May Spring Bank Holiday. We’ll do the same again.
At The Shepherd’s Rest campsite and pub
Rally base is The Shepherd’s Rest campsite: 220 Sixtowns Rd Draperstown Magherafelt BT45 7BH. There is ample tent space, amenities block with toilets & showers, wash-up area, seating area… and of course the pub. Non-campers wishing to stay in B&B should make own arrangements: suggestions provided > here. NB the venue will not be exclusive for the rally. It’s an open pub and campsite – but no worries it’s popular for bike camping and rallies, so the mixed-use is tried and tested!.
In the Sperrin Mountains at the heart of Ulster
The Sperrins mountains range is a designated Area Of Natural Beauty. The moorland, glens, valleys, peatbog is rich in historic and archaeological heritage and folklore. National Geographic included the Sperrins in its top 101 scenic drives in the world.
